Donnaleen Lanktree from the American Rosie the Riveter Association will discuss the history of the “Rosies.” She will share stories she has collected over the years from these special women as a way to recognize them for their contributions and to honor them. Examples of these stories include Lillian from Chicago who operated a milling machine and made airplane gear for engines; Kathleen from Rome, Ga. who worked the assembly line making yards of fabric for parachutes, and Betty from Savannah, Ga. who was a welder on the Liberty ship.
