ADDISON TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD 

                   MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 20, 2025

Call to Order:  The Library Board President called the meeting to order at 7:00PM in the Addison Township Library, 1400 Rochester Road, Leonard, MI 48367

Board Members Present:  J.Baldiga-Yes, J. Elsarelli-Yes, C.Meininger-Yes, J.Newby-No, W.Pack-No,M.Szost-Yes

Pledge of Allegiance Most present participated

Approval of Agenda:  J. Baldiga moved to accept the agenda,2^nd by M.Szost.  All in favor, none opposed, motion carried. 

Call to Audience:  none

Consent Agenda:

●     Approval of April 15, 2025 meeting minutes-

●     Approval of April 2025 bills and expenses as paid

J. Elsarelli moved to accept the April 15, 2005 meeting minutes  with amendment “ascertain appropriate line for item in budget.  Line item in April Expenses for Clearly Manageable changed from File Digitization to Programming; J Baldiga 2^nd.  Roll call vote- J. Baldiga-Yes, J. Elsarelli-Yes C.Meininger-Yes, M-Szost-Yes;all yes, motion carried. 

Financial Report:

Per M.Szost expenses are at or below budget for this time of the year.   Discussed April,2025 transfer of funds.   Discussed accountant’s activities for new building accounting.  J.Baldiga moved to approve report as presented, J.Elsarelli  2^nd.   Roll call vote- J. Baldiga-Yes, J. Elsarelli-Yes C.Meininger-Yes, M-Szost-Yes;all yes, motion carried. 

Director’s Report:  Director provided the Director’s report.  J.Baldiga moved to accept the Director’s report as presented, M.Szost 2^nd.   All approved. 

Committee Reports:  

New Building:  J.Elsarelli reported that we are still awaiting permit from Oakland County Road Commission.  J. Baldiga reported that we are still awaiting the closing of the donated property.   We discussed a future ribbon cutting for the new building.

Public Information:  Website updated.  Advertisement of bricks continues. 

Signage -signage still to be added to property.  J. Elsarelli moved that cost for new signage not to exceed $1000 and to be added as a line item from of contingency funds, M.Szost 2^nd.  Roll call vote-J.Baldiga-Yes, J.Elsarelli-Yes, C.Meininger-Yes, M.Szost-Yes;all yes, motion carried. 

Policy: none

Finance:  none

Capital:   Per J.Baldiga a line item for permits was added to the building budget at HUD.  Expense was submitted and we received reimbursement. 

Communications:  none

Old Business:  none

New Business:  none

Public Forum: Per Linda Meininger, vice president of the Friends of the Library, stated that the Friends made $315 on the recent raffle and that the Friends of the Library was planning to have a booth at the Strawberry Festival featuring a used book sale and portable snacks (cookies, brownies, etc.)

Next Meeting: June 17, 2025 @ 7:00 p.m. (unless otherwise posted)

Adjournment: J. Elsarelli moved that meeting be adjourned at 8:03 PM, M.Szost 2^nd.  All approved.  Meeting adjourned.
