ADDISON TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD SPECIAL MEETING

DECEMBER 6, 2022   

MEETING MINUTES

Call to Order:  6:01 PM

Board Members Present: All members present, including Director Walker.

Pledge of Allegiance:  All participated in the pledge.

Approval of Agenda:  President Elsarelli shared protocol of not adding to this agenda per the open meetings act that the agenda needs to be public 16 hours prior to meeting time.   J. Baldiga moves to accept the agenda, M. Szost 2nds, all in favor, motion carries.

Order of Business:

• Review requested increase to the Library Directors stipend.

 Director presented line items in the payroll expenses including stipend with hard copy breakdown including FICA, quick book fees, rotation of labor hours, and the decrease in business hours open for the winter, to show this proposal would keep the Library in budget range.

• Investigating a new computer program for payroll to help save money.
• Buffer tapped into only as a necessity, currently with proposal not needed.
• Currently the budget is at $145,000.00 with budgeted amount being set at $155,000.00.
• Everything is well on target in regards to the budget. The budget should still have a positive ending should the proposal be included.
• Request is for a $200.00 increase for the insurance.  Was previously increased by $100.00.  The new request is to increase stipend an additional $200.00 bringing the overall monthly stipend to  $500.00.  This will cover the Director’s premium.

1. Szost moves to accept the proposed increase of the Director’s insurance premium stipend. 2nd by J. Baldiga.  Roll call vote: J. Baldiga - yes, M. Szost - yes, J. Eller - Yes, K. King - yes, J. Elsarelli - yes.  Motion carries.

Next meeting January 17, 2023. Unless otherwise noted.

Motion to adjourn by K. King, 2nd by J. Eller, all in favor.
